The Sun Bear is the smallest member of the bear family and is only between 4 & 5 feet in length. These wonderful mammals, often found in the forests of Southeast Asia, are unfortunately in danger, being classified as a Vulnerable species. In fact, due to their short muscular build, small ears, and short muzzle they are often referred to as the ‘dog bear’!

With Sun Bear populations continuing to decrease, it’s so important that we all work together to help restore populations, and protect as many of these bears as possible. That’s why every adoption purchased helps us, and Hertfordshire Zoo, to protect our bears and conserve their future. For as little as £49 per year, you can adopt one of our lovable Sun Bears and support their future.

All Adoptees will receive a presentation pack including:

• Personalised adoption certificate
• Photograph of chosen animal species
• Keyring and pen
• Photo magnet
• Soft toy of your chosen animal species
• Your name will be added to the adoption board of honour until your Adoption expiry date. (please note this can take up to 4 weeks from the start date)

Who will be adopting?

Please fill in the name of the person you would like to appear on your certificate and on the adoption board outside their habitat.

When would you like your adoption to commence?

The adoption date must start within one month of purchase and lasts one year.
