Reaching heights of 70cm and commonly found in Southern Africa, this isn’t quite what you expect when you think of a penguin! However, the black & white coat helps to keep the African Penguin recognisable as a member of the penguin family.

Despite being a favourite with animal lovers, the African Penguin is a classified Endangered species. This means that unless we all work hard to support the conservation of these animals, their future isn’t guaranteed. 

For only £49 per year you can adopt one of our very own African Penguins and in doing so you can help us here at Hertfordshire Zoo, in our conservation efforts.

All Adoptees will receive a presentation pack including:

• Personalised adoption certificate
• Photograph of chosen animal species

• Your name will be added to the adoption board of honour until your Adoption expiry date. (please note this can take up to 4 weeks from the start date)

Who will be adopting?

Please fill in the name of the person you would like to appear on your certificate and on the adoption board outside their habitat.

When would you like your adoption to commence?

The adoption date must start within one month of purchase and lasts one year.
